My First Film Shoot

Last weekend I finished my first film shoot. It was so much fun. Got a chance to meet some of my first celebrities. So the shoot was for a short film, tentatively titled "Career Day", that's going to be put in a movie with several other shorts. The movie deals with a kid who learns his mom is a stripper at a club!

The shoot was a 3-Day shoot, and boy did I put in some hours. Each day was AT LEAST 12 hours, while on Saturday I put in 16 hours!!! Did I mention this was all for free? Either way, I had a lot of fun and learned sooo much on how filming a movie works.

So I was a Production Assistant for the 3 days which means I did anything and everything. I drove around town making copies of scripts, dropped off checks to rent out buildings and parking for crew, and looking for black composition notebooks! On set, I helped move equipment and was responsible for keeping the food table stocked at all times.

The majority of the crew was from Florida State Film School and I got a chance to meet some really cool people on set. This is definitely what I want to do for the rest of my life!!! During the strip club scene, I even got a chance to be an extra in the background! Got a chance to get my Denzel on.

Cast includes Alexandra Baretto (CBS's District), Diana Carr (one of the Fanta commercial girls), and Angel Jaminez (the kid). Also, I met Rider Strong, "Shawn" from BOY MEETS WORLD. He is Alexandra's boyfriend.

My favorite time on the set was during the last scene shot at the club. It was when this Asian Girl did her "routine" and showed the entire cast crew how it was really done. She dropped it, popped it, locked it, unlocked it, and slid upside down. AMAZING! We gave her a standing ovation. She was dressed in a police officer uniform, kinda like Britney from the CIRCUS tour:
